Title: An Economic Approach To Repair Of Domestic Meters
Author: P. E. Opp

Abstract: Any discussion of the economics of in-house domestic meter repair by a utility must start with the basic question whether current total annual meter changes are consistent with the number of changes needed to maintain required meter accuracy. Review of meter change policy at The East Ohio Gas Company seven years ago afforded the opportunity to consider whether a departure from the existing fifteen year service life for all meters would be advantageous to both company and consumer, provided required meter accuracy could be maintained and possibly even improved.
