Abstract: Venturi tubes are one of the most common types of m eters used for wet-gas flow measurement as they are a simple, robust and cost-e ffective meter. Many commercial wet-gas and multiphase meters incorporat e a Venturi tube along with other measurement technology to determine the flow rate of the individual phases. The presence of the liquid causes an increase in th e measured differential pressure and results in the Venturi tube over-readi ng the actual amount of gas passing through the meter.
