Title: Orifice Meter Tube Dimensional Tolerances 8132

Abstract: Reliable orifice meter performance depends on a properly designed, precisely fabricated, and correctly maintained meter tube. Any orifice meter tube not fabricated and maintained to specific dimensional tolerances (geometry) will increase measurement uncertainty, and can cause a measurement bias. Orifice meter tube dimensional tolerance verification is essential in confirming the accuracy of an orifice meter. Even the most modern electronic flow computers, smart transducers, highspeed communication systems, and elaborate editing programs cannot provide reliable results without a geometrically correct orifice meter tube.
