Abstract: There are many factors involved in selecting the proper instrument for leakage detection. Of critical importance is a knowledge of the combustible gas we want to detect, along with information concerning the problem areas, economic considerations and specific applications of instruments available. Ease of operation and training of personnel to interpret the findings of the instrument are areas that should also be given consideration.
