Abstract: Crude oil is a dark, viscous naturally-occurring liquid which is found in great underground reservoirs. Crude oil is not a pure compound. It is a physical mixture of many things that are familiar to us in everyday life including motor gasoline, lubricating oils, heating oil, jet fuel, diesel fuel, thinners and solvents, waxes, asphalt, and many other components such as petrochemicals which are used in the manufacture of plastics.
