Abstract: A paper written for last years proceedings entitled An Off-the-Shelf Interferometer for the Calibration of Accelerometer Standards covered the theory and construction of an interferometer system put together from off-the-shelf components. The current paper shows how such a system can be improved using do-it-yourself methods. A method of calculating the uncertainty budget of the system based on the IS0 Standard proves that the original budget calculations were correct.
