Title: The Production Rotary Meter

Abstract: A production rotary meter is a device installed in a piping system in which the flowing fluid is constantly and mechanically isolated into segments of known volume. These segments are counted as they move through the piping system and their total is continually accumulated and indicated on the meter register. The rotary meter with a defined static volume measures the volume passed through the meter with a degree of accuracy that is acceptable to the regulatory bodies and the mutual satisfaction of the contracting parties, be they the buyer, seller, or the in-plant operator.
