Abstract: There are many applications in the gas industry today that require the use of a pressure- reducing regulator. In the theater of natural gas operations, one can find these simple mechanical devices being used anywhere from a well head to the burner tip. This presentation will cover the basic elements of a pressure-reducing regulator and also explains the operating principles of the two most common types: self-operated and pilot-operated regulators.
