Abstract: Orifice meters are tlie most common meters used for fluid flow measurement, especially for measuring hydrocarbons. Meters are nigged, mechanically simple, and well suited for field use under extreme weather conditions. In 1779, an Italian physicist named Giovanni B. Ventiiri 1746- 1822) performed the first recorded work that used orifices for the measurement of fluid flow.
