Title: Statistical() Design Of Experiments - Without Statistics
Author: Michael Johnson

Abstract: Quality, productivity and value result from a thorough understanding. of the many variables in our processes. Statistical Design of Experiments is a vital tool for obtaining this understanding. The subject has been around for over half a century but has been little used in the USA. This may be due to too much emphasis on the Statistical rather than the Design. The immediate need is to get widespread use, rather than more fancy statistical footwork. A hypothetical example involving seven variables is used to illustrate the power of the method using only simple arithmetic. A case history shows that it works in real life too.
