Abstract: A review is given of the gas metering practice at Gasunie, the gas transmission company in the Netherlands. Emphasis is put on the volume measurement, that is for the largest part based on turbine meters. Research leading to optimal solutions for calibration and installation effects is summarized. Last year the type of flow measurement in Gasunies export stations has been considered in the process of a drastic renovation. It was decided to replace the orifice plates also with turbine meters. Some envisaged future developments in Gasunies metering practice are discussed.
