Abstract: Gas Pressure Regulation is one of the most Important factors in the transmission and distribution of gas from the well to the consumer. In order to provide safe, economical, and efficient utilization of gas, it is essential that the pressure be controlled at the proper levels. A pressure regulator is defined as a device which automatically maintains gas pressure at a predetermined value regardless of variation in flow rate or changes in inlet pressure. In addition, in many cases, it must act as a shut-off valve when the flow rate is reduced to zero. Although there are many variations in regulator design, the basic fundamentals of operation are similar for all types.
