Abstract: The orifice meter is one of the oldest deices for fluid measurement. The device began to be used for gas measurement in the early twentieth century. As the use increased, the characteristics of orifice meters have been researched more than any other type of measurement device. The latest phase of the research was done during the 1980s and 1990s. During the winter of 2000/2001, natural gas prices reached an all time high in the United States. Most of the gas custody transfer was by orifice meter
