Title: Utility Gas From Coal Need For Underground Storage
Author: Donald L. Katz, Michael W. Britton, Gerald D. Holder

Year Published: 1974
Abstract: The paper points out where gas storage would be advantageous in coal conversion and utility plants. Coal gasification units are contemplated as sources of low sulfur fuels for electric utility plants, where load varies hourly. Separate units generate low Btu gas from coal and metlianate tlie shifted and purified gas. Gas storage of low Btu gases, oxygen, and hydrogen between units can increase the plant capacity for coal conversion processes.
