Title: Roles And Responsibilities Of Witnessing A Prover Calibration
Author: Carl Johnson

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to give direction to those that have little or no experience with liquid hydrocarbon prover calibration. The outcome of this procedure will impact the custody transfer of product and could conceivably influence the measurement accuracy of millions of transported barrels, so the acceptance of substandard performance, equipment or processes must not be tolerated. It must be strongly emphasized that the witness job is to protect the precision of the process and, through this, ensure that uncertainties in measurement will be minimized
