Abstract: The AGA Best Practices Program began in 1994. It is an effort to identify superior performing gas industry companies and innovative work practices that can be used to continuously improve the participants operations. Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. has actively participated in the program since 1998. This paper describes Montana-Dakotas Best Practices experiences, its program successes, the Benchmarked topics associated with these successes, and costs and benefits. Finally, concluding with a discussion on an internal process developed to complement and enhance a companys participation in the Best Practices program.
