Abstract: In 1924, the American Gas Association Board of Directors established the Gas Measurement Committee and charged it with the responsibility of: 1. Determining the correct method ot installing orifice meters for measuring natural gas. 2. To determine the necessary corrective factors and operative requirements in the use of orifice meters. 3. To obtain the assistance of the National Bureau of Standards and the United States Bureau of Mines to assist in this work.
