Abstract: Major facility sites, including gas plants, vary widely in their complexity, variety of processing units, geographical spread, number of ownership units, etc. The measurement schematics drawn to represent them also vary widely, from simple black boxes to detailed engineering drawings that are half way to being full P&IDs, neither of which is optimal. This paper reviews some experience based guidelines on how t o prepare measurement schematics for facilities to meet the needs of their primary customers, the production accountants and the measurement team.
