Abstract: Although goals and objectives of the measurement and regulation (M&R) personnel and those of the corrosion control group may be very different, what they do individually may affect the overall success of the associate group. This paper is intended to give M&R engineers and technicians a basic understanding of corrosion control including the challenges and hazards associated with CP (cathodic protection). With this knowledge I hope to stimulate the questions necessary for M&R and Corrosion Control departments to work together for better system integrity, reliability and safety.
