Abstract: Installation and operation errors may have an effect on measurement accuracy and therefore on company operations. This paper will present information for some types of installation/operation problems for common gas flow metering devices such as orifices, turbines, and positive displacement meters. Flow disturbances are usually categorized as either swirl, asymmetric velocity profile, or pulsation/noise.
