Abstract: Gas meters and regulators are outstanding for achievements as a superior kind of development in the history of mechanical progress. The heart or basic feature of these sensitive instruments, that are operated by pressure differential, is the diaphragm. For many years the need for an improved diaphragm material was long recognized in the gas industry. Both manufacturers and gas companies cooperated in the development of an improved diaphragm material.
