Abstract: The American public has grown so accustomed to the convenience and service of the magic flame of natural gas that little thought is ever given to the tremendous task of discovering the gas fields, drilling the gas wells, building the thousands of miles of transmission pipelines, compressor stations and distribution systems. In all of these stages of the natural gas industry, automatic pressure controllers play an important part. These controllers in the industry are commonly referred to as gas regulators or governors.
