Abstract: Without further ado, I think we will get into this paper, because we are about a half or three quarters of an hour late. I want to talk to you about the fundamental principles of regulators, gas pressure regulators in particular. Many times I have asked what is the background of the history of the automatic pressure controller. It seems to be a rather remote and hard to define history. I am more or less inclined to believe that automatic controller have been developed more or less along the of the story of little Topsy.
