Abstract: THE problems of well control in abnormally high-pressured wells seem to have no connection to the problems of transmission and distributing natural gas to millions of people. And yet I feel there is a definite connection. The cost of drilling deep gas wells particularly is affected hy the degree of well control ability and equipment. In a free enterprise system the cost of supply always is felt at the distribution demand point, Further the environmental issues of drilling depend entirely on safe well control practices.
