Abstract: Due to the loss of experienced personnel throughout our industry, we must start over teaching the basics of liquid measurement. When the boss tells an employee to figure out the imbalance in product measurement, panic and frustration should not result. Effective training will insure an effective response. In Warren Petroleum Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., we have developed a checklist review method for our metering systems, complete with enough explanation to allow the reviewer to understand why each item is important. Simultaneously, we continue with more in-depth and theoretical training in our training courses.
