Abstract: Natural gas distribution companies are responsible for operating their system within a safe pressure range. Regulator set points are normally fixed for anywhere between 3 and 12 months at a time. In areas where there are extreme seasonal temperature variations, regulator set points are adjusted to correspond to the changes in demand. These set points are determined by evaluating the system demand during peak load.
