Abstract: Uncertainty is quantified by engineers and scientists and their very methods and mathematics are knowingly, themselves found to be uncertain. Nevertheless, th e effort continues. The AGA, GPA, ISO along with m any agencies in every industry strives to eliminate or reduce uncertainty by releasing new standards and periodic studies and review and revision to legacy standards. The e fforts are not futile and in fact have led to notab le , useful standards that are helpful and practical. These a re often amended, revised and improved and yet ofte n unwelcome.
