Abstract: Standardization of software and hardware interfaces has led to a breakthrough in measurement product architectures. It is now possible to embed the measurement science of high-performance automatic test equipment (ATE) in a PC. Doing so provides connectivity with other PCbased applications, making it possible to connect the operational and maintenance world with the worlds of manufacturing and design. Real-world results can now impact next-generation improvements, while next-generation design and simulation data can be used to enhance real-world performance.
