Abstract: In 1920, after many years of experience in the rotary blower field, Roots-Connersville Blower Company manufactured the firm rotary positive displacement gas meter known as the ROOTS Meter. In 1966 the ROOTS Meter line was split from Roots-Connarovillc and a new company was formed by the name of Dresser Measurement Division. Rockwell International entered the market in the early 1960s with a rotating vane design known as the Roto-Seal Meter and in the late 1960s, Singers American Meter Company introduced still another rotating vane design known as the CVM gas meter.
