Abstract: The largest source of analytical error when spot sampling natural gas occurs when the sample cylinder is purged. The Gas Processors Association (GPA) recommends no less than eight methods for spot sampling. The primary consideration of each method is purging of the sample cylinder in a manner that will not distort the samples gas phase composition.
