Abstract: New technology continues to improve the custody transfer measurement of crude oil and petroleum products. However, the cost of these improvements coupled with the shear number of crude oil leases which exist today necessitates that the majority of custody transfer measurement continue to be done manually using the same type gauging equipment which has been used for decades.
