Abstract: During the past several years the use of gas ultrasonic meters (USM) has continued to increase. There are many reasons users have chosen to specify USMs over conventional technologies such as orifice and turbine. One of the most significant advantages of ultrasonic metering is the diagnostic information that is provided. Several papers have been published that discuss the fundamentals of USMs and how the diagnostics can be used to insure data integrity Ref 1, 2. However, until recently little has been done to automate the analysis of this information.
