Abstract: aking a brief trip back in time, the first documen ted commercial utilization of natural gas happened around 1,000 B.C. The famous Oracle at Delphi on Mount Parnassu s in ancient Greece was built where natural gas see ped from the ground and used by the flame. In recent t imes, around 1785, the British used natural gas pro duced from coal to light streets and houses. In North America , William Hart dug the first successful natural gas well in the U.S. in Fredonia, New York. Eventually, the Fredon ia Gas Light Company was formed, which became the f irst natural gas local gas distribution company or also know today as LDC.
