Abstract: In recent years an almost bewildering variety of new devices for measuring the flow rate of fluids, has been developed and placed on the market. Some of these have special applications, and others, notably the turbine meter, will become increasingly important to the gas industry. None of them, however, offers the degree of flexibility which is characteristic of the velocity head method of flow measurement.
