Abstract: The large hydrocarbon flow calibration facility at National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) 1 was constructed as the primary standard in Japan. It consists of two separate test rigs with kerosene and light oil as working liquids. The normal calibration flow rate range is from 15 to 300 m3/h. This primary standard is based on static and gravimetric methods with a flying start and finish. The expanded uncertainty had been evaluated experimentally and analytically to be 0.03 % for volumetric flow rate and 0.02 % for mass flow rate (coverage factor k 2) 2.
