Abstract: The supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system in service at TransCanada Pipe! ines is described in lernis of iis hardware, software, and communications component!. The applications so!ware used 10 monitor and control the pipeline is described using data requirements, operator displays, and modelling techniques as examples. New directions in SCADA applications are described, with examples o remote compressor operation, compressor performance analysis, and communications performance monitoring.
