Abstract: One fact that is common to every company in the industry is the high cost of equipment maintenance and replacement. Improper use and abuse of equipment is a large contributing factor to these costs with a very limited amount of control being exerted in most utilities. With an increase in the activities of OSHA in the area of operator experience and traming, it appears to be an opportune time for use in the industry to initiate our own program while we still are not under the gun to satisfy a direct order from the government safety department.
