Abstract: Odor level test instruments are widely used in the natural gas industry. Nevertheless, the amount of importance placed upon their use varies greatly from company to company. Why these instruments remain so controversial after over thirty five years of use is difficult to understand. Perhaps the succession of nebulous codes that have never actually defined their use is the primary problem.
