Abstract: As a rcsuh of the 1982 gas glut, new opportunities for gas marketing arose that offered solutions to both producers and end users. Through passage by the F.E.R.C. of regulations simplifying the transportation of gas, industrial end users and distribution companies could negotiate directly with willing sellers (producers) thereby creating a competitive market for new gas. This activity provided additional income for producers, pipelines, distribution companies, and end users.
