Abstract: Uncertainty is quantified by engineers and scientists and thei r very methods and mathematics are knowingly, themselves found to be uncertain. Nevertheless, the e ffort continues. The AGA, GPA, ISO along with many agencies in every industry strives to eliminate or re duce uncertainty by releasi ng new standards and periodic studies and review and revision to legacy standards. The effo rts are not futile and in fact have led to notable, useful standards that are helpful and practical. Th ese are often amended, revised and improved and yet often unwelcome.
