Abstract: A few years ago, with natural gas ranging in price from 10 to 25 cents per tCF, few, if any, locsd at auditing as a viable econcmic function of gas measurement and accounting groups in charge of producing and verifying gas volumes. It is my firm belief that everything is relative, therefore, if the cost of drilling and production was 10-20% of present day costs, the relativity existed between cost to put gas in the pipeline and revenues received. But, as we sanetimes need to look back, lets come up to date and look at the present and into the verification of gas volumes today.
