Abstract: Domestic meters can be defined as positive displacement meters having a capacity of 500 cubic feet per hour or less, operating at a differential pressure of W water column. These meters are generally classified by capacity and case material. Case materials used are tin plated steel, cast iron, and aluminum. In the Southwestern area in particular, and more and more throughout the United States, aluminum case meters are becoming more popular. For this reason, plus the fact that the working principles are all the same, we will confine this paper to a discussion of Ironcase and Aluminumcase meters
