Title: H2S Detections And Determination
Author: James W. Canterbury

Abstract: Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and total sulfur, in varying amounts, are found in almost all natural gas fields. In some cases, it is so small that the product is referred to as sweet gas. Many fields, however, produce sour gas, which is a gas with an H2S and total sulfur level high enough to require its removal or sweetening. Several methods are available to do this sweetening but, that is a separate subject and not a part of this paper.
