Abstract: Over the years, the Service Apprentice Training Program at Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G) has been effective in developing the skills necessary to produce competent service technicians. While the content of the training program has continued to meet the needs of the business, the Technical Training staff and Appliance Service business leaders recognized that there were opportunities to upgrade training resources, include technology improvements, expand the bank of test questions, reinforce on-the-job training and improve the overall efficiency of the training process. The Company committed significant resources over the past two years to accomplish the major task of redesigning the entire Service Apprentice Training Program, while handling an unprecedented training workload at the same time.
