Abstract: Measurement errors and other effects of induced signals on measurement system electronic equipment can be quite profound. This paper will explore the sources and effects of induced signals and other phenomena including effects of cathodic protection systems, high voltage power lines, faulty grounds, lightning, RFI, and intermittent events. Information to prevent and eliminate undesirable signals and technical references are provided.
