Title: Flow Measurement By Vortex Shedding Meters

Abstract: As the process control industry moves into the 1990s there is an increasing demand for precise flow measurement. Thirty years ago the accuracy and rangeability provided by the orifice plate and differential pressure transmitter combination was good enough for the typical process. Today as plants become more efficient there is a demand for wider rangeability and greater accuracy than the traditional flow measurement devices can provide. This demand will intensify as our domestic industries move into a more global economy, one in which efficiency will be the measure of profitability.
