Abstract: This paper outhnes the design and development of a new Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system installed at National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation. The SCADA system is used for monitoring and controlling the distribution, storage, and transportation of gas in Western New York and North Western Pennsylvania. The new system was designed to replace three existing ones, each located at a different site. It consists of a network of 80386 and 80486 based microcomputers, running under the OS/2 operating system. The Network operating system is LAN Manager, and the three operating locations are interconnected over Tl circuits, to form a Wide Area Network (WAN).
