Abstract: This paper addresses socket fusion of small diameter pipe, generally less than 2 inches in diameter therefore, this discussion does not cover all plastic fusion procedures. Oklahoma Natural Gas Companys most common method of making joints on the small diameter plastic is socket fusion, but other methods have been used and in some cases are still being used. In addition to primarily using socket fusion, we have used mechanical couplings and butt fusion in certain area locations.
