Abstract: This paper is intended to meet three primary objectives. 1) Outline some of the most popular/common installation and operation errors in various primary elements. 2) Outline some installation and operation errors in the various secondary and tertiary devices. 3) Provide some guidance on overall application of natural gas measurement standards and provide sources for gaining additional knowledge and expertise in this area. The real question that we are continually asked is What is the error? If we know the answer to this we can determine the economic value of replacing the legacy facilities. This economic impact is generally reflected in lost and unaccounted for gas.
