Abstract: Most modern microwave instruments contain a microprocessor. The microprocessor provides convenience features such as digital displays and remote control thru interface busses. Since we are dealing with instruments that measure analog quantities, an analog to digital conversion has to be performed before the microprocessor can manipulate the result.
